NEW OSK Community Lead and Administrator

As we are sure many of you are aware, due to the success of our ever growing OSK Community, we decided to create a new OSK position.

We would like to formally introduce our new "Community Lead/ Administrator", Dan McGonigle. 

Day 27 of his Ireland Circumnavigation.

Dan will be interacting with you all on a regular basis and answering queries and questions alongside Simon and James. Allowing them to focus on the courses and creating high quality instructional content.

Here is a bit more about Dan…

Hailing from the captivating North Coast of Ireland, Dan is currently based in the paddling mecca of North Wales. 

Growing up along the Causeway Coast paved the way for a profound connection with the ocean. Delving into pursuits like bodyboarding, sailing, coasteering, and most importantly, sea kayaking. These water-based adventures have shaped a rich tapestry of memories, fostering a deep respect for the ever-changing nature of the sea.

His Welsh journey began in 2012 while pursuing a Sports Science Degree at Bangor University. He found a love for the mountains and the dynamic tidal waters around Anglesey, where his sea kayak career really started. 

Over time, Dan's focus shifted from slower exploratory trips towards the "Performance" facet of sea kayaking. Paddling more considerable distances at greater speeds and using wing paddles in dynamic environments.

Dan's sea kayaking experience is highlighted by a 34-day Ireland circumnavigation in 2015, an 11.5-hour lap around the Isle of Anglesey, and a nighttime Irish Sea crossing in 2020.
